I do think her friends, besides Ian and blaine are pretty underdeveloped. and im not into the romance with Dante - he's patronizing even with how close they get, and i hate the macho "you need to listen to me" act.

There's not really a driving plot but i don't mind it? It's mostly Lennon going through the semester with many plot threads that come and go

Not sure if I'll get through this. It seems the first half of the chapters is all over the place talking about colonies and sometimes how they operate and change, and doesn't even mention piracy. Then the stories about the pirates are too vague, giving you the general idea about why raids happened but not how

I do appreciate the depth of historical context but. I wish he went into more detail about how the actual plundering happened. How many shops did a pirate like Hawkins have?? How many men?? How did they raid a whole town??

This narrator is not doing it for me....not enough attitude imo

im surprised this has low ratings, I'm actually really liking it. the plot is fun and Kaz is a great angry character

How things slowly unravel and become so obviously horrifying in a fascist society, but how easy it is to want to blind yourself and go back. And the big question of how can ever make things right after war

Ooohhhh this is SO interesting with the Val / Kyr dynamic - Val is objectively happier but still a victim of Joel's worldview. Is it even a better world and is Val really any more moral than Kyr??

I'm liking this one more than the Chronology of Art. It's better at showing how techniques are building upon one another and highlighting certain aspects of art of the time. Techniques like gold flake painting or pouncing are explained clearly.

Renaissance Devils/grotesques are something that I never even heard of but am really interested in now

I definitely see the hype for this one. And I like that Kyrie is not the typical protagonist who has always doubted the fascist society they live in, she was like that poster child of it, and still is managing to slowly de-radicalize herself. It is kind of meandering and plot now that she's on the free planet. But I am definitely interested to see where it's going

Look I know she's brainwashed by a fascist government but ooohhhh my god girl RELAX

Really slowed down in the middle, had a hard time paying attention but focused on the characters as needed. Some unnecessary drama but I hope the heist is exciting
