Yeah, I'm gonna be part of the hype for this book lol the writing isn't that impressive but it is visceral and the emotional impact is impressive. How things slowly unravel and become so obviously horrifying in a fascist society, but how easy it is to want to blind yourself and go back. Ooohhhh this is SO interesting with the Val / Kyr dynamic - Val is objectively happier but still a victim of Joel's worldview. Is it even a better world and is Val really any more moral than Kyr??

I definitely see the hype for this one. And I like that Kyrie is not the typical protagonist who has always doubted the fascist society they live in, she was like that poster child of it, and still is managing to slowly de-radicalize herself. It is kind of meandering and plot now that she's on the free planet. But I am definitely interested to see where it's going
