The medieval art chapter was expansive but focused only on Christian art - a section on chivalry was included but I wanted more of anything else lol and the history aspect was too vague

Very cute, I like that their relationship is still working out some of the kiks, and its so easy to escape their duties in the capital

I really love the growing affection between all of them, especially when David struggles with a relapse and acts out, out of insecurity and fear, but it ends up bringing them closer together. It's much more of a poly romance than an account mystery, all of the curse stuff is in these last chapters

I just love these characters man. David is so fucking stupid he doesn't even know he's being an asshole lol but he's trying. Rhys and Moira are helping him out of pity and gonna end up in a polycule. I will say I wish Rhys had a bit more personality though

Really liked the chapter in Goethes impact on Romanticism through Faust, and traces of the Devil in music throughout time

its difficult to parse out the real argument of each chapter, but i am interested with everything Simon describes. Faust as a real historical figure is rather uknowable, and there were many more documented "sorcerers" during his day, but its Faust's name that lasts (despite it being almost entirely made up)

you can tell this guy's purposefully trying to make every sentence sound as smart as possible because he PAINFULLY admits that he can describe an image as nothing else but "funny" -- my guy you can speak plainly sometimes its okay
