Well this got really dark, really fast.

A recent, fairly large cliffhanger happened and Lynch refuses to get back to it, ah!

I know I've flushed about Kettricken in many progress updates but it's because she may very well be my favorite character. Also I ship Starling and Fitz, two broken souls who feel that their chance at a happy life is far behind them.

Kettricken has had so much taken from her and she just has her sights on saving a land that she was simply married into. Sacrifice indeed. Lots of cool developments recently and having some characters return has been great. Fuck Regal still, of course, "How many dead, or worse, Forged? All for a prince's spite, all for a spoiled boy's ambition for the throne."

Nighteyes is so badass. Also ohhh boy, the return of a certain character.

Loving Starling more and more. The many cold winter scenes makes reading it so comfy on a warm summer night. Oh and White Prophet *eyes emoji*

Such determination in "I would find Verity or his bones."

I've read about 200 pages now but its felt like 400. Fitz needs some characters around him or else his internal thoughts can get boring. Last chapter was really good though.

Been slacking due to finals and a trip, but that's all over now! Hopefully I can finish this by June. Lots of good stuff so far.

A very strong start to a book that, I'm told, will slow and dawdle on. Nevertheless, the ramifications of Book 2 were instant and severe. And Hobb gave us more of the great interactions between Burrich, Chade and Fitz. Bold prediction: Burrich is going to go live with Molly. Lastly, a quote: "sometimes a man doesn't know how badly he's hurt until someone else probes the wound" - page 36.

Wow. The last couple chapters were all great.

This is seeming more and more like a segway book to get to book 5 instead of a strong one in of itself. Also more info dumps and less answers. Weeks, how will you ever make book 5 conclude in a satisfying way?

Alright Mr. Weeks, I feel like most of the first 10% of the book was sexual tension. Other than that, just want to point out that Marissia is a very underrated character within the series.

I couldn't read for a while because I was sick, but no longer!

"Every act intends some good." I feel like this quote sums up a lot regarding this book, in a good way. Half way done and its been great so far.

I don't normally get emotional when reading, but Gavin's dream of his first Freeing was very well done.

Moving forward with more Lightbringer!
