End of Part 1

Yeah this is a banger so far. So well written, and a different kind of unsettling , and also funny. Quite the twist just happened, too. The rest of the novel should be very different.

I hope I can finish my RoW re-read in time 😬

I'll finish tonight or tomorrow. What Ishiguro does best in this novel is his understanding of communication, and how being human gets in the way of that.

Still very much into this, but slightly jarred by the tonal and narrative shifts now that their lives as young adults are more the focus. And speaking of focus, the themes and general plot seem less focused too. But I grant that Ishiguro can bring it all together.

"Honor is dead...but I'll see what I can do."

Ishiguro has a really good sense of what it’s like to be a good and how a kid thinks. That kind of stuff has been the strongest aspect of the book so far. It has waned, unfortunately, and I’m waiting for something to take its place.

I'm very into just the life of Kathy, and I'm gonna get a lot more than that.

Been a decent amount of strong scenes! Also a lot of sex scenes.

This is a long book.

The writing can be quite good sometimes, and very bad others :/

Done with part 2. Very interesting plotting. I hope it, as well as the characters, all come together as the book settles even more. I have faith that it will because it’s been great so far.

Quick pacing. Very interesting so far too, though.

I feel like I need to start the Commentary section over with the context I just gained, and because I didnt have the characters well defined until now. But whatever.
