I can feel my heart pre-breaking. I think this is going to be a hard read.

So far the tone is, uh, kind of precious? Insufferable? Condescending? And this might not be fair but I’m detecting a hint of racism. Maybe. Need to read up on the author.
Oh, and I’m being reminded of Dianetics in weird ways. Probably just because Hubbard drew on some similar 19th and 20th-century sources, but it’s kind of making me nervous anyway.

I’m not going to pretend I’m thrilled to start in on Leviticus, but the context and explanations here are helpful and I feel a little more optimistic about it.

I really find this book delightful. I’m having fun.
