This book should’ve cut off all the backstory to Psyche and Eros’ lives and just started the story right when Eros got cursed. The book was so boring up until that point

I read the part where Zeus and Leda had a kid and I was like “cheating - it sucks but it’s common” and then I had to reread that part because Zeus impregnated her when he was a swan so it’s freaking bestiality- leave it to Greek mythology to be so freaking gross 💀

My “no-thanks” shelf is books that I add to remind myself to never buy or support so don’t judge me for marking a book as read if I’ve also added it to my “no-thanks” shelf 😭 I would add reasoning for why I’m adding the books to my shelf but Goodreads likes to take those reviews down (even when I don’t leave a rating-)

Ayyy now I understand why this book was written in 3rd person. I was reading this whole book going “the writing would flow smoother if it was 1st person” but the pov makes a lot of sense now

I feel like one of the brujx stole la gara del jaguar and is using it to try to bring someone back. Maybe Diego or Yadriel’s dad is trying to bring back Yadriel’s mom? Julian’s chest wound fits and there’s no reason why it should be brought up so much if it wasn’t important for the plot, right?

Is it bad that I find Julian’s friend group more interesting than the main characters-

Also, on another note, that yearbook scene was cute and I need to see more stuff like that in books

Things will probably change since I’m not too far in, but considering this is one of the most hyped young adult books in recent years, I’m a little underwhelmed so far…

Book Cho is not talked about enough. Her trauma response makes so much freaking sense and it’s how a lot of us would react to knowing someone we love was murdered

My least favorite chapter is up next. I despise the mental illness rep at St. Mungo’s. It wasn’t done respectfully at all

I love that scene where Peeves is randomly chucking ink at Katie Bell 💀

I love the Hog’s Head so much more after The Secrets of Dumbledore

I freaking love Ginny

I last reread this book when my dog’s health was failing and I remember really relating to Harry’s grief. Rereading it now after losing my dog is going to make the grief parts hit so much harder 💔

I’m in love with this book and can’t stop reading it 🙈

So close to being done. It’s not that this book is objectively bad - it’s just way too long and filled with too many unnecessary descriptions as well as lots of useless poetry/songs.

Finally got to some action and finished book one of four 😩

I hope Tom isn’t in the series any more because he really annoyed me 😒

Am I just tired or does the forest make no freaking sense???

I know that hobbits age differently than humans, but Frodo’s age is still weirding me out. I thought he was supposed to be a teen when I watched the movie 😭

Hmmm I might continue with the physical book because it’s starting to get a bit easier to understand but it’s still a bit dense. It’s been ages since I read The Hobbit so maybe I’m just not as smart anymore so reading classics is harder now? 😅

I might have to switch to the audiobook because that prologue was confusing and made me feel dumb 😭
