Hypothesis of the book: The links between values and measures are changing (This is very ambigous, value as number or moral; measure as the outcome of mechanically measuring and as "what should be done about a problem")

Hayles (→"How we became postmodern") suggests that cognition is not concious thought, thus people, animals, machines, groups can cognize. (Hayles seems to like computers, that is rare.)

More hard-to-understand terms! But at least I recognize some again from the previous pages. Also, the famous “Western Philosophy is Footnotes to Plato”-Quote. I read it in this actual book, now I can officially use it.

Expressing political opinion as member of disenfranchised groups of society is hard as expressing political opinion so that it is seen as such requires a certain habitus.

The Haraway chapter is surprisingly short, and it probably is really hard to understand whithout having read Haraway’s situated knowledges paper?
It also mentioned the concept of cutting by Strathern – which I could not make sense of in such a brief section. Let's google da thing.

Dewey and Simon were compared. Simons view on problem setting is more fluid than I though; the role of abstractions for both Simon and Dewey were explored – but only a bit and I would like to know more. Next up: Haraway.
Well readable, although slowly. However, it is one of my favorite topics, so I might have it easier here.

Starts promising, although a bit too abstract for my taste. Next up: Dewey and Simon. The latter being often seen as the one who made us all believe in rational methods. Let's see what Lury writes about his thinking…
