It is great, but I enjoy Becker’s method books more, I think.

Very nice. Some similarities to Ingolds work on skill and Turnbulls work on mobility of knowledge.

It is ok to read so far. But most amazing so far: It is a paperback, but a beautiful one: black endpaper, main paper with a good feel, text has enough whitespace around it. The only flaw is the thin yellow title which is hard to read upon the green.

First I was disappointed that is has fewer drawings than I expected. However, it has short chapters and is easier to read than I though. Very enjoyable so far.

For an academic work it is (Becker-typical) easy to read; The many actors and their goals that take part in creating artwork are described in everyday terms rather than anthropological-use-only terminology.

This is really good. The chapters can be read in one go, the language is rather easy and still interweaves a lot of quotes from the texts it talks about.

As a disappointed reviewer remarked, it is not about doing magic.

Pretty fascinating views so far. The hope in and newness of computers has faded; now, it is surprising for me to have computers described as a tool that can bring out new concepts and experienced in learning instead of having described using them an "essential skill", means for more efficient education or produce more STEM students and entrepreneurs.

Turkle observes and talks with kids about computers and and how they think about them – particularly, if computers are alive and what computers can and cannot do.

"Today computers hold out the promise of a means of instant translation of any code or language into any other code or language…a Pentecostal condition of universal understanding and unity. The next logical step would seem to be…to bypass language in favor of a general cosmic consciousness…"

Seems to be a source of a lot of tech-y ideas that universalize a particular world view.
