Interesting, but gets somewhat math-y. Even if the functional style with monads and transducers etc. is great (hard to judge for me) I wonder if the average programmer-person will be able to read it.

In the direction of Crockford’s ideas: Focus on functional programming. Explains principles and and possible uses. It is not very difficult to read, but the functional paradigm demands to learn some new vocabulary (which is well explained imho – functiors, monads etc.)
The suggested style might come with the disadvantage of being hard to read for people who are used to mainstream OOP styles of programming.

I remembered the Moses’ bridges example most, but "Do artifacts have politics"[yes] is much richer than than and the tomato harvester might be a more interesting example for the things that are interesting about the chapter.
