Finished As You Like It, one of my favorite Shakespeare comedies, and next up is my favorite Shakespeare tragedy, Hamlet. I'm fighting down the temptation to start it today. But I have a plan. I'm going to read Shakespeare After All and Hamlet while listening to the regular morning and noontime classical music programs, then take the Folio to the outdoor organ concert and finish it there.

Up to the chapter on Hamlet, which I'll read tomorrow during A Joyful Noise, the choral music program on KUSC. I can't wait!

Forgot to note that I'd read the chapter on Henry V. I'm just about to start the chapter on Julius Caesar and then read that play. The ex-classics major in me is champing at the bit to reread Shakespeare's first Roman tragedy.

Just finished Henry V and it has justified its place as my favorite history play. Now up to Julius Caesar

Finished The Malcontent by John Marston with additions by John Webster. It was very good. Now up to A Woman Killed with Kindness by Thomas Heywood.

Finished Much Ado About Nothing, which confirmed its place as one of my favorite Shakespeare comedies. Now on to Henry V. Given the way foreign phrases are handled by the compositors, I am not looking forward to the passages in French, which I suspect will be butchered beyond belief.

Finished The Merry Wives of Windsor. Up to Much Ado About Nothing.

I haven't updated this in a while. I've read the chapters on Henry IV, Part One, Henry IV, Part Two, and The Merry Wives of Windsor, and now I'm up to the one on Much Ado About Nothing.

Finished Henry IV, Part Two. Now up to The Merry Wives of Windsor, where Falstaff will get his comeuppance.

Finished The Merchant of Venice for the second time this year. Now on to Henry IV, Part One.

Up to Chapter 2, "William Shakespeare and the Actors".

Up to the chapter on Henry IV, Part One. Maybe I'll reevaluate my dislike of Falstaff, because my dislike of Falstaff as a character makes the Eastcheap scenes a slog and that makes me dislike the play as a whole even when it probably doesn't deserve it.

Finished the essays on Richard II and King John. The essay on the latter play was the shortest so far, only 12 pages long. Not even Garber could find much to say to interest the reader in this play. Now up to The Merchant of Venice, which gets 31 pages of analysis.

Up to King John. Richard II was a brilliant play. It fully reinforced its status as one of my favorites.

Just finished reading A Midsummer Night's Dream. What a delightful play. Next up is one of my favorite histories, Richard II.

I've not been updating this, but I've read the chapters on Richard III, The Comedy of Errors, Love's Labour's Lost, Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream and now I'm up to Richard II.
