Maybe this’ll get finished by some time next year…? 900 pages—really, man?! So mad at my friends for recommending this—I’d not finish it otherwise

Baffled by how LONG this book is

Whew—this is lonnnng. Hours in (forever) and only at 17%…and I heard there’s a sequel?! I’m reading this cause a couple friends read it & we’re like, book clubbing it, but I’m bored with this b/c I don’t know where it’s going or if it has a point or climax. It just feels like ramblings etc

The detail of imaginary things, how do writers do this?! I’m slowing down to try and understand imaginary, made-up science of the far future, and loving it!

Simmons writes well from a man’s perspective, I gotta say

This reminds of Ada Palmer’s Terra Incognita series—The Iliad & The Odyssey—Homeric epic tales adapted & re-mixed. I loved Palmer’s work, and Simmons here has yet to disappoint, so I’m all tucked in for yet another odyssey
