Wondrous writing, after reading so much non-fiction, dry nonfiction I might add, I’m really satisfied to be reading really good literature from a really good writer

Gonna take a swing at this and say that one has to sympathize with and understand what it feels like to feel invisible, in order to truly appreciate this book.

Well, kinda like Star Trek, lotta 1970s racism in an intergalactic conception. Higher forms vs lower forms (patron v client)

If a student took chemistry seriously and applied his or her self to the world, and its ecology, then that student would become Barry Commoner. Reading this makes one very grateful for smart people! For real scientists, who get worked up & excited about environmental problems, who take measurements of dirt, & water, & air, and who stand around & stare at fields or rocks or some crack in the ground! Taking adults back to 8th grade science. Well organized, coherent, understandable, not overwhelming or overly technical

Good ol’ Frederik Pohl keeping it smutty as usual! Things got real silly around pg. 100 when Castor became president overnight and went into space and was transported to another solar system with animal like beings that learned to speak English. It went over the top, in other words, but I’ve gotten used to the authors style and idiosyncrasies and all together appreciate the romp!

Pohl doesn’t really disappoint me. Ya got space, futuristic thingies, and a solid story that centers around a modern Dude. There’s loving, and some mystery, detective stuff and so on. Most of all, there’s here an alternate history line going on where Russia & USA fought and blew each other up, leaving the Chinese & Indian to fill the vacuum and maintain/dominate the world.
