Audiobooking this, kinda dry, problem w/Niven is that it’s: 1) Aliens/ETs are all basically human personalities 2) very deterministic and linear, there is a void of spiritual and mystical and theological concepts it’s very much a sci-fi saga for Darwinists and evolutionists, little wisdom or philosophy, just straight materialism, all through the lens of an uninteresting bloke.
