No book on alligators works be complete without a discussion of attacks. The author does a good job addressing the hype. I think I'll skip the *extensive* bibliography and call this done.

Fascinating discussion of sustainable alligator farming using wild collected eggs and careful replenishment.

I've known about the effects of temperature on alligator sex for some time, but had never considered the implications for genetic sex. It's possible to have genetically identical male and female alligators.

The alligator's umwelt is both very alien and very familiar.

I wish there was a little more discussion of taxonomy, and the almighty shieldcroc! Also, I'm curious as to the range omissions in southern Texas.
