Hal is now an outsider because everyone in the whole country of Skandia will remember him for one thing, letting people take their prized possesion, the Andomal.

Hal is inventive for many reasons. Firstly, Hal invented a new type of Skandian boat that is very efficient and goes faster than all the other boats. Secondly, Hal invented a new hand, that was like a prosthetic for Thorn, the invention worked very well. Lastly, in the beginning of the book, Hal tried to make his mom's work easier by designing a water system so his mom wouldn't have to go out to the well for water.

Hal changed throughout this part in the story when Erak told Hal that Thorn used to be the Matkig for 3 years, Hal started to respect Thorn much more, I noticed it in his way of talking and his actions.

The events that led up to Tursgud and Hal fighting included that Thorn taught Hal to fight, so Hal was eager to show Tursgud, also, the bad blood between Hal and Tursgud had a big effect. Lastly, Hal cheating in the event led to this.

From previous reading, this book reminds me of the Ranger's Apprentice series because Hal invented this new boat with a triangular sail, this connects with the book, The Emperor of Nihon-Ja because, Halt, Will, Evanlyn, and Selethen arrived at Nihon-Ja very quickly in a boat that was based on Hal's design, even Erak said that this ship was so fast because of this Skandian-Araluen boy. So, these two books connect.

Hal reminds me of Will for several reasons. First of all, Hal is quite clever because he managed to win the contest against Tursgud's group, Hal got a whistle and distracted the other team to win. Will is also clever because he always finds ways to ambush the enemy, and comes up with these ingenious ideas.

When Wolfwin emerges from the sea, it reminds me of when Will got captured by the skandians and had to be a slave. This reminds me of that because Will was captured on Wolfwind, and was brought to Skandia with Evanlyn. This was a really tragic moment in Will's life because he nearly died as a slave because he was addicted to warmweed, and the Skandians didn't do anything about it.

Horace and Shigeru finally reached the bridge Shukin tried to get them to. This is a big accomplishment because once they pass the bridge, then they will break the bridge so Arisaka's men cannot catch up. Events that led up to this included Shukin losing his life just to buy time for Shigeru, Horace choosing to go on this journey, because Horace saved Shigeru's life. WHat slowed Shigeru down was the injured men

I used to think that Alyss and Evanlyn were getting on good terms with each other now I think that they are just acting that they like each other. My evidence for this is that when Evanlyn and Alyss were practicing sword fighting, Alyss did much better and beat Evanlyn, Evanlyn got angry and kicked Alyss in her shin, you are not allowed to do that. They got back to being on "good terms" after Halt yelled at them.

I used to think that Alyss and Cassandra disliked each other because Alyss felt she was too spoiled being the Princess, but now I think that they have a stronger connection because they both are going to help Horace fight Arisaka and they will share a room aboard the Wolfwill.

The events that led to Arisaka leading the revolt against the Emperor in Ito were that the Emperor, Shigeru, gave the common people more power, Arisaka believes that the Nihon-Ja warriors should have much more power than the common people, but the common people make all the material for the armor and weapons and they also get food to feed the warriors, so everyone should be equal.

What led to Halt watching the Nihon-Ja was that he was revived by Malcolm after he got shot with a poison bolt, And, Halt, Horace, and Will had to ride to the place the Nihon Ja were in.

I used to think that Tennyson's followers would never leave him because of all the rituals they did with him, now I think that Tennyson's followers left because they realized how foolish they were for thinking there was a god called Aleisass and realized that Tennyson just wanted their gold.

I used to think that Knights like Horace and Rangers like Will would be very strict and would have no humor, now I think that both knights and rangers have humor because Horace keeps joking around that no one cans see him because he is wearing a ranger cloak. Also, Will said that he didn't want Horace to come in the cave with him because he would lose sight of him.

Before, I used to think that Will was flawless and could beat anyone at anything, now I think that he can still improve on some things because he needs to improve on his knife skills because the Genovesan nearly killed him during their knife fight, Will also needs to improve his anger management because he raged at the Genovesan and nearly killed him before they got the information.

The description of the acai poison the Genovesans use helped me see how much of a risk treating Halt is, because if Malcolm treats him with the wrong potion he will die, there is no way of knowing which potion will work, there are only two potions. That is why I don't understand why Will didn't try to capture the other Genovesan to ask him what poison he used on that arrow to shoot Halt.

I learned that it is good to make allies no matter what because since Will was allied with Malcolm (the amazing healer), Halt may have a chance of living if Will gets to Malcolm and back to Halt in time.

I wonder where Halt got shot, was it a fatal shot by the Genovesans, or did it nick him. My prediction that the Genovesans would hit Halt was correct, but now I wonder what Will will do.

pg 125 Will, Horace, and Halt are scavenging through the woods for the Genovesans, they are very nervous, this is similar to how my friends and I once played hide and seek in the woods and I tried to find them, I was very nervous that there would be an animal or something scary in the woods.

Horace reminds me of Keefe in Keeper of The Lost Cities because Horace makes a lot of jokes and Halt is amused by him, Keefe also is the funny type, and everyone is amused by him. For example, Horace asked Halt why it was named One Ravens Pass and not something that was realistic, which amused Halt.

From the text clues, I can conclude that Tennyson will do anything to get what he wants because on page 65 Tennyson and his followers killed two country folk just to get some food, they are very ruthless.

At the Peace Summit, I think that King Dimitar (the ogre king) will be very aggressive and will try to start a war between the elves and ogres because he has already allied with the Neverseen, and the Neverseen attacked the elves, so the elves may have a war with King Dimitar.
