I can't believe that this is only the second (or third?) time I've read this. I'm appreciating it so much more than I did when I was a child.

Well, more has happened, but while I'm having fun, I'm still not shocked. I think I burned all my shock away reading Georges Bataille and Pauline Reage.

I stumbled upon "dark erotica" in my collection development research, and all the kidnapping made me feel slightly pearl-clutchy, which isn't something I normally feel. So I decided to give it a try with a nice vampire novel and see what people like about it. So far this is far more vanilla than I expected. Hopefully the second half pushes some boundaries.

This is so much more emotionally arresting as an adult. I'm glad I grew up with Harry. I'm even more grateful, though, that I'm revisiting him now. Related: Excuse me while I sob for Neville.

Gorgeously written so far. I have some concerns given the author's caveat about lapses in memory, but I'm reserving judgment until I've finished the book and can examine it as a whole.
