So much drama with all these vessels ((are they vessels??)) walking about.

This is a very simplistic mystery story, but I'm still enjoying it. I feel like Poppy is the perfect character to watch grow. She was so sheltered before moving in with her Aunt and getting the job at the newspaper. We love to see a lovely character arc.

A modern-day Nostradamus...

This has just been such a great exploration as an apocalypse story. Sophie, our MC, was raised in a super religious family and was very sheltered. She was completely clueless when it came to the outside world; to sex, to interactions with her peers, and with plague that was spreading. It's been fascinating watching it all from her perspective. She was on the verge of her own sexual awakening and then the shit hits...

Shoyo is done. Time to move on down the road, Nick.

I'm soooooo into this right now!
I enjoyed Maeve Fly quite a bit for what it was, but IMO, this is next level. It's a much more coherent narrative, which works for me, not quite as stream of consciousness. The audio is fantastic as far as bringing out main perspective to life. I'm also loving all the topics being examined.

We're off to an interesting start.
Again, it's taking me a minute to settle into Leede's writing style.
I had forgotten this was sort of like a pandemic story.

This has been fun. I particularly like the journey for Mariel. As a member of an infamous family, she's had a lot of assumptions made about her and preconceptions made about who she is as a person. She's had a real struggle trying to overcome those things and figure out what exactly her path is going to be. I've also enjoyed her learning even more about the truth behind her famous family.

Franny had the talk with her Mom in the parlor, and her Dad finally stood up for her. Thankfully.
Our favorite patient, Stu, is still learning all he can from the CDC-men and had his first dream of where he needs to go. Red eyes in the cornfields and all.

There have been some very fun twists and reveals in this!!

I knew someone was gonna die, but did not see that coming. Not the person, not the circumstance. Every single one of the remaining people had a motive...

I guess we know who the mysterious lady locked up is! I hope they can get her free. So, did Mr. Isaacs die bc of the letter she intended to get to him?

Yayee! She got the job and her new boss, Mr. Rolandson, seems funny/quirky!

Still a little strange. It's clear this guy has something sinister and revenge-oriented planned, but we're taking a wee bit to get there.

I'm not enamored by the writing so far, but am going to continue. Hopefully once she secures the job at the newspaper it will get better for me.

I went down a rabbit hole with this one today.

After the initial section, I almost DNFed.
It took me a minute to get used to the writing style, NGL, but I'm glad I got over that initial hurdle. This is so interesting. I love the blending of genres, but the overall murder mystery has me glued to the pages!

I think Annie has it figured out, but can she expose the killer before they get to her first?!

This is ridiculous. I mean seriously ridiculous, but I'm also enamored by it. I can't stop reading. I have a million things I should be reading, but any time I sit down, this is what I want to pick up.

I'm loving the Stockholm Syndrome set-up and Sara's dry delivery of everything that's happening. She's hilarious!

I'm glad I already bought all the books in this series, bc I'm def continuing on!!!
