When I was a kid, this was one of the many books my mom had to talk me into reading, and I always thought she was trying to get me to read preachy stuff, but I ended up liking the books. That was a long time ago, and I had forgotten how good this book is! I certainly remember the Dodger, but how did I forget Charley Bates? Was I too young to get the joke?
