Kinda like how A Knight’s Tale used anachronism to give a rich sense of medieval Europe.

I adore this book but there are some incredibly annoying typos. I isn’t understand how they could have got through the editing process. A couple of missed letters; one or two moments where the wrong name is used - that character just couldn’t be the one speaking. Gah.

The racism evident in the discussions of the Big Three/Four shouldn’t shock me as much as they do. Also the self-interested negotiating is hideous to read.

I am having to re-read Duchamp’s story in this - the first story in the book - because it’s amazing and unexpected and I don’t think I appreciated it properly last night.

Thoughts 2/3 through: I’m impressed by and kinda unhappy in a way about the way Corey makes Singh more relatable than he should be. From the point of view of Our People he should be nothing but a monster and I don’t want to feel sorry for a man who agrees with Duarte so single mindedly. But I kinda do.

Urgh. Just URGH. How could Carmody write of Dameon coercing Elspeth into kissing him? Because that’s what he did and that’s just dreadful. I can’t ever think about him the same way now.

How do they not realise that surely here are two hannahs, one the daughter of the other?
