This year, my goal is to clear my TBR shelves. I am excited and determined... and I just bought four new books...

130-odd books for 2013. That's rather remarkable.

Based on my "female authors 2013" shelf, Goodreads has recommended a loooot of men.

I've read just over 50% women for the year. Given that some of those have been enforced, I am pleased to see it.

I'm totally in awe of Pankhurst. Always have been in theory, but this is confirming it in great detail...

I wonder if I should admit that I am not going to finish this anthology, given how long it's been since I started it...

This should be compulsory reading for short story writers (those who know their classics anyway). Third of the way through and overwhelmed.

I am SERIOUSLY loving this book. I think it beats Leviathan Wakes, but maybe it's just the comparison with Existence...

At the halfway mark of the year, and I'm about 60/40 female/male authors. Interestingly, most (all?) history books have been male authored.

I am back to reading my history book, after a very long hiatus, and remembering why I love this damn subject.

It's starting well. Reminds me of one of Sara Genge's stories, with the people living outside a dome after an apocalypse.

Quite intriguing, fairly fast-paced. Changes happen a little bit too quickly with the main character, but overall enjoyable so far.
