Lots of modifiers on this page. I guess this is YA and I’ll have to get used to the sheer amount of adjectives that will be needed for this author to tell his story in a short(ish) book—though there are twelve (12!) books in this series.

I’ve owned this book for awhile now. It took our school library discarding the entire series for me to have the impetus to read it. I’m on Spring Break now so let’s see how many of these I can read before we go back to school!

Guessing he doesn’t actually die because there’s like 10 more books. Just a hunch.

What can I say. There’s war. There’s peace. There’s a whole lot of confusing names.

Should’ve seen that coming.

Definitely a slow build but I’m not a huge fan of Rowan thus far. She seems to hate kids despite it being her LITERAL JOB to like them.

This book smells good.

Really just rooting for the shark in this one. All the human characters are trash.

Still hate everyone in this book. In fact, the shark might be the most noble character in this book.

I can’t believe I’m still reading this book. I practically hate all the characters and it’s so sexist/racist/homophobic/fat phobic. The plot is OK though.

Really? Using “histrionically” as a modifier?

Ugh. Hatred of characters continues. Also hate how the author describes Ellen. Gross.

Wow. The human vs. human conflict in this is incredible. I hate so many of the characters and I’m only on page 116! I didn’t hate this many characters in Game of Thrones!

Solid start though the book is quite racist and homophobic—definitely from the 70s—which in no way, shape or form excuses the language. I was just a little shocked.

Also this is like really dark this far.
