It was a couple of months since I read the third book. I hope I haven't forgotten that much and that this one won't be confusing to read because of that.

It just doesn't seem believable that he loves her. All he does is acting condescending towards her.

My last update was supposed to be on this page.

"She tasted the names on her tongue- Modi, Magni, Thor, Jarnsaxa - like some fabulous, exotic dish"

I'm not informed enough to say if this is problematic or not, but it sorta feels like it might be? Problematic, that is.

"Which was when I realized, remembered, that Conrad really had been drunk, that he couldn't really have been responsible for anything he'd said or done that night"

I just feel like so many of the things in this book could be used to justify really bad stuff, like the sentence above. I've already seen this exact reasoning used to justify sexual assault, something that is never acceptable.

I think I like the way that the chapters alternate between past and present, but I'm not sure.

I don't like the casual sexism. It's more between the lines, so some might not notice it, but that doesn't make it better. It's still sexist.

I'm not really liking this so far. The characters don't seem to know what consent means.
