I’ve seen many reviews about how this book was slow paced but it’s not ?? It’s character development through a series of events not necessarily in chronological order ?
In any case, I’m quite fond of Tess and very curious to see how this will turn in a serie and not the standalone that it seems to be for now.

I wasn't expecting to be this far already in the story. It only feels like the set up part (which is not a bad thing, believe me I'm totally into that book). Concerning the story itself, I'm expecting betrayals, torn siblings, a kingdom left in darkness... Concerning said torn siblings... Andreus doesn't deserve an ounce of Carys affection & protection.

What is going on ? It's so confusing that the chapters are sometimes third person basis, sometimes first person but never for the same character, and I'm not even sure I get the plot ??

Hello Iorek ! I initially started to read the Book of Dust and then there was that one mention of Lyra and I was overwhelmed by how much I loved her as a child and damn, there is so many things I forgot about this trilogy. So yeah, I just met Iorek and I didn't remember him well or how much I liked him. I'm amazed at how good this book is and the new lecture I have ten years after the first one.
