I just realized that the page count here on GR is inaccurate. It says the book has 352 pages, but it actually has 296. So I'm much closer to the end than it claims. XD

The downfall of Numenor was tragic, and yet, rather satisfying knowing all the evil Ar-Pharazon and Sauron had brought about. Oof. (Also, did anyone else notice the tiny Sauron on the lower right side of the cover of the book, shaking his fist at the giant wave? I just think it's a cool detail. :) )

I watched a movie adaptation of this last year and it was very enjoyable, so I figured I should read the book.

Aldarion, my dude, you're an idiot.

Him: "Why is my wife mad at me? I *only* abandoned her and our 4 year old daughter for five years. I mean, how unreasonable can someone be???"

Me: *prepares to smack him with the book*

Okay, the dancing bears (not the Medieval kind, these dance voluntarily) are the coolest thing ever. Also, they feel a little Narnian, tbh. XD

I would love to see footage of Andy Serkis in the audiobook recording booth belting out "OLD TOM BOMBADIL IS A MERRY FELLOW; BRIGHT BLUE HIS JACKET IS, AND HIS BOOTS ARE YELLOW!!!" at the top of his lungs. XD

I got this book in hardcover when it came out last year and I honestly forgot how heavy it is. XD

I did it! I finished! It took until nearly 1 am, but I did it. XD RTC!

Aaaaah, it's getting so exciting! I'm hoping to finish tonight, but I don't know if I can or not. Approximately 48 pages left, which is a lot for me to read in somewhere around an hour. I'm going to turn off my phone now and see if I can do it!

Wow, this just keeps getting deeper and deeper. I'm sad to see that Sarah Morin hasn't written much else besides this because she handles character and deep allegory so well.
