This is soooo an imagining of what happened to Susan (from Narnia) after her siblings died if she grew old and had children. The main character is her granddaughter. The names and certain details have been changed to make it not a fan fic (as one must for legal purposes) but the winks at Narnia are STRONG.

Definitely picking up on some Narnia references here. Maybe some Secret Garden too. :)

Also, Eva, honey, did you really need to BREAK DOWN that door to satisfy your curiosity???

The power went out this morning, so I listened to the rest of this while eating a cold breakfast. :P

Oooooh, plot twist!

Uh whoa, dang, girl.

I started to pick a different audiobook and then realized I actually really want to know what happens with this story. XD Book 2 already has points from me for actually including the mom!

I'm seriously debating a DNF. There's nothing "wrong" with this but I don't often like contemporaries where illness and the medical treatment therof is a main plot point. It's also not grabbing me like the three other Reay books that I've read did. I keep skimming large swaths and find nothing has really happened yet. Yeah... I think I just talked myself into finding something else to read.

Girl, I know you just committed fake murder and you needed the cow's blood for show, but why did you put your bloody sword back in its scabbard without wiping it?! (Literally, it stated that she did.) That's really gross, not to mention bad for the metal. I kinda think it would get sticky in there after a while, too...

I've been very up and down in my feelings about this MC. Sometimes she annoys me, but I've been able to tolerate it because sometimes her overconfidence bites her in the butt. This may not be a 5 star read for me, but at least it's keeping me reading.

Goodness, there was a lot of this book that I remembered, but several things that I didn't! Also, one thing I thought I remembered and apparently was wrong. XD

I love how the tale of Tink's encounter with the Stranders gets ridiculously exaggerated as it's passed from town to town. That's so real. XD

Every night when I look at the cover of the book before opening it to read, I keep finding little details in the design that I never noticed before. For one thing, the Florid Sword is on a building over Tink's shoulder. There are also some spoilery details in Tink's hands, which are in shadow enough that you don't notice it immediately, so don't look at them if you haven't read the book yet. XD

This is okay so far. The world is interesting, but the MC is more stereotypical-spunky-female-heroine" than I like. I also wasn't wild about the scene where she's first transported to the new world, in the middle of a battle no less, and she's like, "There's so much blood and people dying, I'm gonna barf, OH LOOK A HOT GUY!" And naturally, the hot guy is the good one and the guy with bad teeth is the bad one.

The second season of the Wingfeather TV series (on the FREE Angel Studios app, just FYI) is coming sometime around Easter, so I need to reread this to refresh my memory!
