Not even that far in and it's definitely a steamy read. Need to get myself some smellings salts and a hand fan to use while I read this one. Can tell I made a good choice for my Read-a-thin prompt 'A Romance Novel'.

Off to a really captivating start. Definitely hooked me immediately.

While it moves a bit slowly in the beginning the story and characters do great work holding attention. So far an enjoyable read.

This book. . . I swear. . . the outrage and pain I've felt just reading this book. I can't imagine living it. I feel terrible for those who have and do. I've cried a good bit reading it, and have a feeling I'll cry more before it's over. Still glad I chose to read it.

Oops, this doesn't seem like an ideal situation for Dresden. . . But what's new, eh? lol Also thanks for that gut punch to my feels at the beginning.

This book makes me feel so many wonderful, confusing things. It's so, so good.

This book has been sitting on my TBR pile for awhile now, but I finally decided to pick it up. . . and am now going 'wow, should've read this sooner'. It's such a great read. Very interesting take on the genre. Love the setting, and the characters.

This shit is bananas (b-a-n-a-n-a-s) lol couldn't resist though it aptly describes the situation Dresden is in right now. Also, never once did I lose faith in Thomas!

Uh oh, just what are you upto Thomas?? And more info on Mouse is so welcome.

Did a huge chunk of reading. Had to force myself to put it down for sleep. A few comments: totally called the one thing though whoa didn't expect the others, ouch to elevator convo, and my love for Thomas continues. Will probably finish today.

And things are getting crazy good. Needed to take a break but was so hard to put the book down.

Well, this book started out with some heavy feelings and is on a roll.

Both LotR and Aladdin references which is awesome. The further I read the more I love this book(and tbh series).

Ah, the Sidhe. Beautiful as they are treacherous and making Harry's life more of a nightmare lol

Forgot to mark as reading lol still sick so little forgetful but enjoying so far. Poor Harry.

Whelp, there's some feels. Also felt just as terrified as the characters. Stuff is getting serious. BTW realizing too that apparently there might have been a short story somewhere between 2 and 3 as they keep referencing an incident unknown to me. Need to find out.

Ah, that soulgaze. . . weird and interesting and freaky all at once. Also, love the differences described for black magic vs. "what-Dresden-does" which I assume to be white magic.

Whelp, didn't ask for these feels. . . ouch.

Lessons learned so far: first, don't trust a demon, even one with spectacles nicknamed Chauncey, and second, just 'cause someone overreacts and thinks you betrayed them doesn't mean you did. Not cool, Murph. Not cool.

Only 5 pages in and already I'm intrigued.

Really enjoying the book so far. I was hesitant at first seeing it was in 1st person, but the author establishes Harry Dresden's voice immediately. The story sucks you in fast. He's an interesting character with flaws and a sense of humor that makes him easily likable. The side characters and cases are fascinating as well. Though that Morgan dude deserves a couple more punches to the mouth. . .

Ugh, my heart.

Reading through a steady sheen of tears is tricky. . .

Such a pleasant read so far. I didn't want to put it down, but had to rest my wrist cause of the tendonitis.

The writing in this book is beautiful. Poetic, honest. . . it speaks to you like you're having a conversation with someone sitting nearby.

Review to come, but let m just say: I am enthralled and can't wait to read the next one!
