Truly amazing how Steinbeck doesn't miss a beat 22 years after writing Cannery Row.. This is simply devine storytelling

Having loved Cannery Row's characters and story like an old friend, Steinbeck manages to duplicate the evocative nature once again. Whether Doc, Mack, Hazel or the others the sense of comfort is indescribable.

Baldacci slows the pace with a dab of back story and demonstration of Pines macho side. This has to be the first series I've read with a bad ass, weight lifting female FBI agent.. Nary a smile or chuckle anywhere

Terrific.. Parallel story lines of which one character bears slight resemblance to Lechter though I'm sure there are no lambs to be silenced

As one expects from this author, he wastes no time immersing the reader while adding cliff hanger questions at the end of every chapter. This is a clinic in mystery narrative and David is a true master

Without doubt, the most unique book of short stories I've read. How often do we witness a scientist with the gift of storytelling who not only engages the reader but causes him to wonder. A brief five star review will come tomorrow though in my opinion, the title should be, Einstein Dreams of Time.

Truly remarkable how a physicist crafts lyrical prose that engage a reader with romance, emotion and science. The most unique combination imaginable

Always refreshing to discover an author you are unfamiliar with. But in this case, the author is a physicist who merges science with story in extremely unique manner. I will be reading more of his books, rest assured

Absolute perfection! Paced like a heartbeat, Walt manages a balancing act as momentum builds while keeping the reader guessing what's next.

Possibly one of Walt's best. So good I have to restrain myself from reading the whole thing in one sitting. Fortunately I have two other books to dig into

Those who enjoy detective mystery and have yet to read Walt Mosley have no idea what they're missing. Prolific and skilled at character driven narrative his pacing is pure perfection!

Those who appreciate talent like Walt's do best by not rushing through the story since reading his books are like a great meal. Each word, chapter and phrase needs to be savored.

One of things that sets Mosley apart from other detective story authors is how he blends mystery, family and racism like a chef. We see this with King Oliver and Easy Rawlins, but he uses similar styles with other stories. He also manages to keep the reader engaged with a variety of colorful characters and plot twists

A good second title would be "The Unwoken" since Boyne makes a point at spearing the woke meme along with severe personality/family dysfuctions..in some ways the character are like those in "Seinfeld" who are not only clueless but lack any comprehension of humanity

When a book is adapted to screen and the casting director picks Paul Newman, you can hear his voice when reading the dialog. Too many great quotes to mention and memorable as they get

Such wonderful storytelling with characters that cause you to smile, wonder and think. An appropriate subtitle might be, Apples and where they fall.

Hilarious.. George makes a spectacle of himself by apologizing to the trans girl he insulted at his attorneys office on Twitter and gets barraged with tweets from woke members calling him every name in the book, the last one saying he was a Michael Bubble fan. He tells the BBC manager about the tweets and adds, I've never bought any of his albums!

The beauty of reading a favorite book for the second time is uncovering hidden gems you'd passed over. With this go round I'm focused on the metaphor Russo uses along with moral of the story which in this case is profound. Ascerbic humor aside, Sully teaches us that people can and will change if we let them.

Of the many life lessons woven into the story fabric, the predominant one is genetics don't necessarily mean that we must emulate the behavior of our parents. While blood is thicker then water, how we treat ourselves and others is a personal choice.

Now we go to act 2 where we learn about George being outed on social media for homophobia. This is another poke Boyne makes at society since his oldest son struggles with his sexuality, his youngest prays on older men who think he's gay, and his daughter is wrapped up with using her celebrity to gain followers. I suspect he pulled this from experience especially the phone addiction of the daughter

Elizabeth Cleverly is not only addicted to her phone but constantly distraught she's not considered as an influencer. In order to correct that she takes a video of sex with new boyfriend, then let's it be known how devastated she is on social media about the leak.

While this clearly a poke at society, I wouldn't be surprised at all if people do this sort of thing to get followers! Stranger than Fiction in other word

One of the many elements Russo weaves into the narrative are lessons we learn in life. Using dialog as the driver, he manages to cause us to think about our own in a new way. This is the craft of writing at its best and this author knows it well

For those that have yet to read this or seen the Oscar winning film, I'd recommend seeing Paul Newman prior to reading so that you realize how spot on his take of Sully was. As I read the dialog I can hear and see him along with Bruce Willis as Carl Roebuck. While there are some elements left out of the script, it follows the book closely!
