Loving every bit of this one. Almost as revolutionary as Self Illusion. Incredibly enlightening, with many moments where I find myself just sitting and digesting what I have read.

I am struggling to get through this one. Strobel continues to purport that he is a skeptic and a journalist, and yet he serves up soft ball questions, doesn't dive deeper than the surface after his strawmen are easily knocked down and explained away. This is becoming more of a case for confirmation bias than anything else. He doesn't weigh evidence on either side and look at what is most likely historically.

Why is this book so long? It's well written, but do I really need to know so much about everyone?

An interesting thought. The bible isn't a self help book. Morality and self betterment exist without religion. Religion is meant to get you closer to god. Therefore if one cannot see or feel god, religion, perhaps, has no purpose for that individual. Gone is the whispering thought that at least religion helps people to be better humans.

It might annoy other readers but I love how caught up Modesitt gets in the details of crafting (blacksmithy, woodworking, etc.). He even just spent a chapter on dealing with clients. So good, but I can understand that these rather frivolous details might not be for everyone.
