I am rereading books that others have received well but I rated poorly, to see if my opinion has changed over the years. Some books have been a big surprise, others not so much. I haven't read this book in like 15 years...so far it is as uninteresting as I remember. 1/8th in, but so far, very run of the mill epic fantasy in the Tolkien vein.
