Back at it, so compulsively readable

back at it

- I really should have seen the mess coming but I was too taken in by the persuasion of it all
- I don’t love the (attempt at) racial politics of this but that comes with the territory I guess. And I’ve seen/ read much much worse

- just as delightful (and funny) as the first
- I feel like I’m only now getting the hang of all the names
- the persuasion parallels, the hand flexes etc. are killing me

- pretty sure there was a reference to the Little House series in the first book as well
- not enjoying all the random asides about characters’ bodies

this is very dark, which wouldn't normally be a problem except i was expecting a wistful rather than bleak tone based off the first book in the "series"

i love a well written memoir

I really really love this so far. It feels like reading the Ramona Quimby books as a kid.

oh this is lovely

the horrors are unending, still waiting for the moment where the scale/ scope of this book becomes justifiable

A thirty hour audiobook is wild because why am 90 minutes in and only 5% through

my library hold finally came in so i made the switch to the physical copy, glad to have confirmation that the audiobook was the problem and i wasn't just going insane. truly a night and day experience not only in comfort but in realising how much i'd fully missed. also this is the first emily henry book i haven't read either as an ebook (beach read) or audio book (PWMOV, book lovers). i like it!
