- i like that the writing style feels true to the character
- the fact that 75% of the named characters so far have been Nigerian is such a Nigerian author thing to do

yeah, couldn’t very well pick this up in the midst of my own academic crisis.

Really appreciate how short the chapters are. My attention span can’t handle anything longer at the moment. That said, the details in these first few chapters feel so sparingly drawn that at times I’m entirely sure it’s intentional (and it probably is) and other times it feels a little anachronistic.

Possibly the worst time to re-read the book that embodies all of my greatest anxieties. But here we are.
