The writing style is very no-nonsense so far but I like it.

This is joining the list of uncanny valley books that feel no less baring and vulnerable than being on a surgical table. The social commentary and astute observations of human behaviour are great too (I feel like Irish authors generally excel here). Undecided re: how much air the dynamics with the men in her life takes up.

Feels spiritually to the Comoran Strike series (but more self aware)

Love Pamela as a protagonist, her narrative voice is so sharp and fully drawn

Danielle Deadwyler as the narrator made this such a memorable experience. What a way to wrap up the reading year

The chapters from the sisters’ perspectives (particularly Ariyike’s) is where this shined.
