I was feeling nostalgic for The Tunnel last night, and resolved to read another big, fucked-up book.

This is entertaining and easy-breezey, but part of me is still failing to fully connect with it. It kind of slides along, with all these separate stories which to me, could have been entire novels themselves, all amongst the same characters... I think maybe Morrison just doesn't give those plot lines the weight I would expect, which on my part is a judgement with deep roots in my own biases.

I want to make a decent dent in this before I pick up one of the many other books I'm desperate to read, but I'm still on the fence about how decent that dent should be.

Richardson's The Pilgrimage Vol. 1 just arrived. I have the bad habit of purchasing books I really really want to read while in the middle of reading books I also really really want to read, and so I end up tearing myself in half.

Totally bummed that what I had figured was the full audio on YouTube actually only runs up to page 75.
