I don't think Joy knows that our Zoo is actually in Royal Oak, which compared to Detroit, is really quite nice and I would think not as existentially dreadful for animals. I won't hold it against her.

By far the best book on teaching I've read. I should also say that this is just a very good book, seeing as most books on teaching are utter shit.

This is making me want to reread all of my Cortazar...

Already this seems the kind of book that leads me to reevaluate my relationship to all other books.

I kind of want Vollmann to write a straight-forward love story. I think that would be my favorite book.

The Gerstein chapter reminded me thematically of Vonnegut's Mother Night, one of my favorite books back in high school.

I should really be paying more attention to this Vlasov chapter.
