Trying to catch up to where I left off in Ulysses.

The first chapter was fascinating. What a start.

Finishing this up while attending my teacher's seminar at St. John's in Annapolis. I feel an intellectual pivot coming on.

My seminar reading is done. I'm diving back into The Dick. Oh yeah.

Golly, Brobdingnag was PERFECT.

The Bailbondsman was great. Consider me sold on Elkin.

My dog Robin died Friday night. She was the best reading buddy a guy could have hoped for. My heart and my couch are empty.

Good to know Theroux has read his Bolano.

Reading Theroux inevitably becomes a lesson in vocabulary.

Comparing heads... this book just keeping gayer and gayer.

I just noticed that my copy has nearly identical creases to the GR photo of this edition.

I got engaged last week, and the wedding planning has begun. Thus the absurd logic of this book is particularly resonant at this moment in time.

For one week every spring they fill the local mall with cheap books. They call it Bookstock. I'm going in. If you don't here from me, don't send help. I've died and gone to heaven.

My mind is only really able to focus on this during mornings. My comprehension then is full and comes fluidly, but once I'm fully awake the sentences become all jumbled and impatient and stomp away.
