I'm really not sure how to rate this one. It would definitely make a good soapy mini series for telly. Almost seemed written for adaptation. The characters just never really seemed fleshed out enough, perhaps because there was a lot of plot to get through. After over 450 pages, I don't feel like I know the characters well, but certainty lot happened to them!

Started off a wee bit soapy. Also, the use of modern phrases like "it's a lot" and "be the best version of yourself" takes me out of the era it's set in. Still, I'm enjoying reading something about 2 things I know very little about: army nursing & Vietnam

Not sure I can finish this. I was expecting it to be fun, but it's hyping up as glamorous all the worst behaviours and attitudes of the 80s. The men are just... ick, and the women aren't particularly worth cheering for either so far.
Worse than Colleen Hoover? Quite possibly.
Maybe I should end my pursuit of good fun trash. Its existence is possibly a myth.

Why am I reading this dross? 😭 Twilight is a literary masterpiece compared to this
