Starting to feel guilty for being a white woman.

This book focuses on how feminism touches different aspects of our culture and how feminism can be used to challenge the norms to create a better society because in the end, poverty, hunger, gun violence, rape culture and so much more effect women more than men.

So nice to read about the man a good friend tried to get me to vote for in 2008, but I was staunchly Republican, inherited from my family. I didn’t care he was amazing, he was a Democrat. Today I look back and think of my naivety to have voted against him but still glad he won, though it took me until the end of his presidency and 2016’s election for me to appreciate him.

Reading as my first ever audiobook!

Can’t put this book down! So good!

I love how the author pairs each chapter with a major celebratory who has been labeled “too fat, too slutty, too loud etc” and showcases how women, white women, women or color take control of those labels and use them to change the narrative which had for so long categorized women by deciding what and who is the ideal female.

Not only a great book on having and maintaining long-term, adult friendships bits also about interracial friendships!
