Ok I hate to say it because the heirs are definitely A$$holes and deserve everything the girls have done to them and more... but, the girls got what was coming for them just in the pitch.

Um... why is everyone an asshole in this book? I don't get it. So far all I've seen is bullies, teachers included. I get this is some sort of college or higher learning so they are free to do as they please, but the entire species is a bully soup. Why did they even bother getting the twins if they expect and want them to fail. I hope something happens because so far I'm just disgusted by the whole premise of the book

Full disclosure, I'm listening to the book on 3.0 speed because it's kinda slow. I'm very annoyed at feylan (excuse spelling) and at MC (I'm terrible at names) Rhysand is the only one I like honestly. She SAVED them and they're treating her like a glass doll. It's obnoxious and she's letting them. The only one treating her like a strong woman is Rhys and she hates him. I don't get it but I'm annoyed. Giving it time.

Online free serial, I just read the first 3 chapters that are now up.
Obviously it's gonna take a while to mark this as "read" but I'll probably update every time I read some.
I might not be reading as they come out so I can get more at a time.
Really good so far, I love this world and getting more of it is always fun.

I may be DNFing this baby. I know, I hate doing that. The problem is: I have no desire to finish reading it. It's sooo slow. I even paused and read the first book in the series hoping the actual series would really pick up and motivate me to get the back story, no such luck. The first book is just as slow as this prequel and I feel like giving up
Maybe I'll pick it up someday so I'll leave it in my CR just in case

I'm almost halfway through the book... honestly I'm a bit bored. Things were interesting then now they feel like they should be reaching the end... but I still have half the book so... what happens now? There's not much action in this book. Maybe that's why?. I'm used to reading UF with some action. I like it, but it's a bit slow for me. Maybe it'll be more active in the next few chapters... or books... idk.

Aaaaahhh!!!! I swear I'm actually enjoying this book, but damn it!! Every time our girl says something mildly nerdy, or you know...not shallow. All the boys are like yup she's special. No she's not!!!!. You like her! that's not the same thing!!!!
She made a lotr reference and they all reacted. She said she reads what did they think that meant!? All girls in this books are shallow bitches, that's so infuriating

I'm not too far along in this book, and I do enjoy it so far but I need to say this because it's driving me crazy!!
Why oh why!!?? Does she need to be "not like other girls" ? The author is trying so hard to make her not like other girls that she's making basically every girl just a bitch just so the MC is more likable.
Most girls aren't bitches. It almost feels like it was written by a man lol. Fucking crazy.

This twin stuff has me so confused like they're telling her she's smart because of the shadow but her twin is like her and he doesn't seem to have one so what's up with that?

It's taking me quite a while to finish this book and it's not because it's bad. The complete series includes 3 books and I'm about half-way through the second. I'm enjoying it. It's a book about motherhood and the imperfect reality of it written in blog style.

Having a really hard time finishing this one. I'm quite surprised, I had yet to come across a book in the House of Night that I didn't love, but this is the streak breaker for sure.
My biggest issue with this book is having to basically read half the book from Neferet's POV or her "assistant" (already forgot her name that's how little I enjoy reading from her POV)
Wish I had more room to type. Basically not happy.

Seriously considering shelving it for now. The continued change in perspective and the lack of something actually happening is getting very... boring.
I think I could deal with the lack of action if the POV didn't keep changing, or I could deal with the POV change If there was some interesting or if it was a limited POV change. I swear I've seen EVERY POV it's crazy I'm waiting to be a fly or something next it's dumb
