I am enjoying the story and the flashbacks to Illium and Aodhan's long and deep friendship. However, I am this close to screaming "TALK TO EACH OTHER AND THEN KISS" at the pages.

This book is already creeping me out immensely.

Welp, things continue to get steadily worse, and I am at around five "Oh noooooo"s and two "hell yes!"es, so this is peak Abercrombie.

Pausing here until this evening, because my office does not need to hear me saying "You're right!" and "YES, empathy is an important heroic trait!" and "SHUT UP Campbell no one cares!" and "JUSTICE FOR BRISEIS" as I read.

I can feel this book gearing up to just shatter my heart.
