Val McDermit's was odd - 2.5*
Anthony Horowitz was hilarious - 4*

3. Simon Lewis - disappointing police procedural. Yeah, I'm definitely not picking up one of his books.

2. Neil Gaiman - a very decent attempt at an adaptation of Holmes 3.5*. I have unrealistic expectations for Holmes (because it's my favourite book) and need it to be perfect. Mycroft was funny and Johnlock was strong but I did miss John's perspective. The ending has messed me up slightly/a lot...

I'm going to review it after each story so I can remember which I liked and didn't.
1. George Pelecanos is a new author to me and his writing style was refreshing and new. I'm surprised I quite liked it. 3*

Cannot wait for the next one: Neil Gaiman's adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.

The ebook site that I'm reading this from is 'under maintenance', which is fabulous...
I'VE GOT SO MUCH READING TO DO!

I'm going to focus my energy on this book starting with Horowitz section because he signed it for me.
As there's 27 different stories, I can focus on one at a time and there'll seem less.

When Anthony Horowitz tells you that the murderer is revealed on page 1 with the motive and there is multiple page 1's.

I read the first section of this book in the queue waiting for Horowitz to sign this but I'm probably not going to make much progress cause uni books - yey...

'Abandoning' this for a while because I just can't be bothered with this book.

This is actually really interesting and there are sections, which are looking really good for my personal philosophy assignment.
It's just a huge book and pretty dense.

2016 reading list: a classic from the 20th century.

Bring it, Orwell!

Countdown: 211 pages with 3 days to go.

This book is physically draining and to be honest, I can't wait to see the back of it.

Countdown: 484 pages with 7 days to go

Countdown: 593 pages with 8 days to go.

I can do this.
Countdown: 723 pages with 9 days to go.

I've recently moved back to York and so haven't given this book much attention.
It's just that Martin is rambling on and he could have told the story in half of the time.
I am enjoying the action sections of the story but they are very sparse. It's like he's building up for a huge event and it better be good!
I hope to finish this book before uni starts so 11 days to read 900 pages. I can do that.

Some bits are exciting and some are dull but what can you expect from Martin?

So far, so good!
I think it's because I've enjoyed all of the viewpoints so far.
All I want is:

- Jon to be absolutely badass.
- Tyrion to knock his dad down a few pegs and take over as he is the only sane Lannister.
-Daenerys to just be badass with her dragons and kick all the guys to the ground.
-Arya to be reunited with Jon.
- I don't even know what I want with Sansa but just sort your life out.

I don't know why I've done this to myself.
Please be better than the second one.
Give me strength.

I still have the science fiction bug after 'High Rise'.

This is a dystopian novel with a capital D. This is so insane but Ballard is a genius. It's a bit ewwww though cause people are eating dogs :')

I've finally accepted Hiddleswift and now, I'm ready to read this...

I've only just started this; I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

So good at the moment and no mention of the Watchmaker.
Electricity is beginning to terrify me.

Apart from the Watchmaker sections, I'm extremely excited over this story.
Manipulating electricity can be deadly?

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy The Cold Moon (#7) and so I'm a little anxious that The Watchmaker is back.
I don't like the idea of him handling two cases - are the individual cases not strong enough?
The other case looks very intriguing.

This is extremely good so far!

I've just had work and not made as much progress as I'd have liked.
I'm loving the murderer's POV at the moment, which I don't usually like.

The concept of this story is highly intelligent and terrifying - wow.

I'm excited with this.
This idea is a great concept.
