It’s only been 8 years…. But I’m at a place where I am ready to really read this book

Halfway through and the boom is very unsettling. The pace is excellent and it’s intentionally disconcerting. I’m definitely going to finish this book soon.

I’m not far in- enjoyable but not terribly original. Typical thrill seeking bunch together to explore this super mysterious haunted estate. There is the damaged one, the cold and cruel beauty, the smart ass cool guy, the everyday guy and the ladies man.
They are friends though everyone hates at least one other in the group. Not going to feel bad if they all die.

This is a good book, but for some unknown reason I am not reading it as quickly as the others. I read the last book long enough ago to be somewhat lost as to who some of the secondary characters are - thank god for google.
I’m still giving it four stars as I appreciate a book with a fantasy setting that doesn’t feel completely foreign.

Oh how I’m enjoying this!!

I’m trying to finish this long book. I am troubled by the relationship between Zhivago and Lara bc they barely have interaction in the book. The time spent focused on them talking would be similar in a novella.
The issue being that the book is advertised as a love story but there is no substance. It’s really just a book about a guy in Russia during the revolution and beyond. Which is fine- but not page turning.

He’s just arrived to the property and how I love this book. It truly is a book I am going to recommend to a great many people.

I don’t know if I am going to finish this book as there are so many frustrating parts I can’t get over.
Also I can so easily see what’s going on I don’t have sympathy for any of them.
