This was the end of it all it was time to get rid of Jack once and for all. Uncle Rufus took this one on he told the kids to go outside the school and wait for him there as they did it started. Uncle Rufus was starting the machine for the last time that night. The machine had started up, and the clock went off, telling him something was going on it had attracted a spirit as it did it shake violently, not like before.

He was in Endeavor and couldn't find a way back so he got cycling and tried to come back he banged on the doors of the wardrobe Eve and Clovis heard sounds but didn't know where they were coming from he was still in the atmosphere they waited until the wardrobe would appear again. They thought it may be Jack but this didn't feel like it. Uncle Rufus was upset that Tom did this, but he also wanted him back.

She described him as a face that looked like it came from the pit of hell itself it wasnt good thats when he did away with her right in that moment. There were more spirits of women showing up all of his other victims they learned more of who Jack was, and they were all together. He was never caught. Tom now had to come back to himself he had nearly crossed over. He was slowly disappearing he was scared.

The children were also done away with he took them and drowned them it was so sad the city wanted justice but the government covered it up there would be riots if they ever found out. Their mother told him he had a gift not everyone could communicate with the otherside. This is when there were more spirits making contact with him a passerby a woman named Elizabeth he attacked when the children were scared...

I really liked that this chapter turned to Tom's situation and stayed there. Tom had helped the children, now they were happy their mother was there she came for them. They couldn't come to her because they were so much in fear they couldn't do it. Their mother was grateful to Tom and what he had done for them. She then told him what really happened how Jack got a hold of her and did away with her...

He had left a note with them telling the professor what he was up to that he went back to the school took Endeavor and was helping to set the kids free of the evil that was trying to get them. The professor was furious not that Tom had taken the machine but that he had gone on his own and put himself in danger. This was his promise he made to the children. It was time for him to keep it. Now they got ready to go.

The morning came and they noticed Tom was supposedly still asleep they didn't bother with him as they knew a lot was going on with him worrying about the ghost kids and his mom and dad. They went about their normal buisness and discovered the professor was working on something new in his lab. It wasnt until their curiosity came that they wanted to involve Tom Eve went to wake him and found he wasnt in his bed...

He tells them what to do to get into the wardrobe and dont move until he says to. He sets up the equipment to get ready to send them to the otherside. Just before he does, he sees their excitement and how happy they are that he came back and helped them as he smiles at them. He had done it.

There was no way he was going to leave the kids by themselves with the evil entity of Jack the Ripper. He places his pillows in his bed like he was laying there, covers them up, and gets going. He knew what he had to do. He goes and gets the equipment he needs to help the kids. He grabs the wardrobe and sneaks out the door. He gets to the school and sets up. He calls on the kids trying to be brave. They come to him.

She told him they should just head off to bed that they would talk to Uncle Rufus in the morning about this. Even didn't understand what was going on as Tom was trying to get to bed when he hears the voices again it frustrates him. He thought about his mom. The kids were saying they missed their mom. He knew what it was like. He gives in after a while and takes things into his own hands he promised the kids...

Just as they were getting home things started to die down everyone was looking forward to a good night's sleep when Tom overhear's the professor talking to someone on the phone how they are not going back to the school that Jack is too powerful and dangerous Tom didn't like the sound of this he had promised Annie and Joe he would help them. Now he was hearing voices in his head their voices. He told Eve about it..

Meanwhile the kids are on another floor and seems like they are doing nothing because now the ghost of Jack has appeared and Uncle Rufus has to stick this one out on his own without the kids. It's the ghost children he wants and they come into their ghost forms only to tell Tom that they need to help Uncle Rufus and when they go back to him, he is nearly hurt. This chapter could have been different it needs editing.

It's really weird to me that all the action is happening this late in the book. I'm not liking Uncle Rufus he is is in charge of taking care of the ghost of Jack the Ripper but the ghost is more powerful this time around and he is a professor so he is supposed to know what he is doing. It doesn't look like he is very strong and professional. He is nearly getting beat up by the ghost as he is thrown to the floor.

I can say I predicted the end but the investigation continues. They start communi- cating with the kids, Annie and Joe their mother was killed, and the man took the kids as well and did away with them as well. Tom was the one who had good communication with them, so they kept it that way. Who was this man they were talking about Jack, yes of all people, but where was he now. Tom was the one the kids trusted to talk.

The investigation finally begins I cant believe it took half the book to get here but it did. Not much is going on either. The young kids wet foot prints show up on the floor they take pictures of them and collect samples. Nothing then happens for awhile they split up Tom, Eve and Boris the dog go together. Uncle Rufus and Clovis go together. Suddenly a file cabinet comes crashing down at the end of the chapter.

The extraordinary invention Uncle Rufus built from the first time he built it but now transformed it into a wardrobe that can capture a spirit and take them where they need to go the cool thing about it is that it can fold up the size of a suitcase. This was revolutionary eventually, it would go to SPI, where Uncle Rufus would do more tests on it. It would be amazing for the company as that's what they were about.

When Jack came into their presence thats when they would hand it over to Uncle Rufus he could never forgive himself if anything had ever happened to any one of them. What he would tell their parents. The teacher was clearly very frightened and so he was taking the investigation very seriously they would back later that night to investigate.

Finally they make their way over to the school to meet with the teacher who saw the young children and now he reveals also Jack the Ripper as well because of the pain he inflicted on him branding him with an evil mark on his arm. Uncle Rufus was not ok with the kids investigating this case, but he came to a conclusion that they would only handle the spirit of the kids...

This is the location Jack was seen and where the teacher had seen those eerie looking kids dripping with water ghosts from another time. I really think this chapter could have been shorter. The supposed friend of Uncle Rufus does nothing for the story.

I think we could have done without this chapter the uncle is questioning whether the children are able to take on this investigation that he had tried before but he didn't think they were ready for this. He gets a hunch trying to figure out what the place he knew before from a book was its way obviously what that place "used to be" it was the location of the Primary school where a body was found years ago...

Now was the time to capture Jack the Ripper's ghost he had somehow escaped the trap the investigators placed for him after supposedly finding an unmarked grave at a cemetery. His ghost came back in a dream and talked to them and showed them the murders he had done and the ones they had no idea he did. Even one he had not done yet, but it was one of their SPI investigators. How was that possible.

The SPI is top secret the investigator told them you could be dealt with if it ever got out and someone in it mentions it to someone outside of it. This new investigation is about Jack the Ripper his ghost was back this was their new investigation.

Eve, Tom and Clovis finally know where they are at. It's like a paranormal branch of the police just a secret branch called the SPI that helps ghosts to cross over either to the otherside or their final resting place or they are stuck in certain situations that are keeping their spirits here. One branch is for poltergeists, inventions,and many more. No one is to talk about this place after being a part of it...

Eve, Uncle Rufus, Tom, and Clovis reach the place they were heading to where the people working there seem to be invisible. They are met with what they think is a giant painting of the night sky, and its actually the universe they are seeing it with a special machine of some sort. This place is big. Now Detective Inspector Rutherford is now there with them.

I think this chapter could have been shorter. The long drawn out descriptions of walking in the tunnel they are in and hearing things could be mice or rats winding stair cases, signs on the wall. They were in a secret place kind of headquarters for what Uncle Rufus was trying to show them. A guardian appears in a bright right with a look from centuries ago as a ghost they get scared because they don't know who he is.

A new adventure is about to begin Eve, Tom and Clovis are being made aware of something they never thought would happen again but this time professionally. They were going to go on a real investigation where it was at the moment they are not sure. Eve's uncle is getting the details from someone he was talking to on the phone as the kids wait to hear.

Wow head teacher Mr. Wilson encounters 2 kids in the school before he is to lock up for the summer he orders them to leave but they are not of this world as he soon comes to see. He had heard singing earlier and now he sees that they are both wet and leaving puddles where they are standing he realizes this and begins to freak out. This was only like the things he saw in the movies except it was right in front of him.

It's great getting back to this series. Eve, Tom, and Clovis coming back together. It's sad to see Tom's situation happening with his parents not getting along and may be separating. His mom needs a small vacation to figure things out she would be back. His dad doesn't seem to care, so Tom got out as soon as he could so he could stay with Eve and her uncle while Clovis' mom heard from Tom's mom to watch our for him.

Wow thats a creepy start introducing Jack the Ripper just before he attempts to take the mother out and the kids walk in the room, and he takes them instead never to be seen again.

The evil spirit had also messed with Maddie it was very demented it was the spirit from the skull. They all went back to take it in for the last time and now it was reboarded up and now there was a fense around the place that it was now condemned that no one should enter there was now plans to demolish it soon. There was also a memorial nearby for Maddie they thanked her for helping them and glad to be alive.
