There’s a non-zero chance that I’m going to spontaneously combust if I don’t play D&D soon; this book is killing me. It’s like holding a bowl of macaroni and cheese in front of a five-year-old’s face and telling him he can’t eat it.

I'm convinced that Pendergast either has a bag of holding or wizard's pouches; that guy always has anything he could possibly need right at his fingertips. It's a little ridiculous. I'm reasonably sure he could pull out a particle accelerator, cement mixer, and double dildo without any trouble, depending on what the situation called for.

The Forgotten Realms is my happy place. And 7-Eleven--that's also my happy place.

Editor #2: Let’s just randomly jam him into this first X-Men crossover, which would sell a bajillion copies even if one of the issues was just about Wolverine taking a giant, steaming dump.

Reading something through the prism of nostalgia is always an interesting experience, and it makes it impossible to assess the actual quality of a given story.

And my year of reading/re-reading X-Men continues; I've spent more time with mutants this year than I have in the bathroom, and I spend a LOT of time in the bathroom.

It's really mind-boggling how much more public libraries are than just book repositories...I had no idea how wide-ranging their services are these days.

Obnoxiously self-promotional note: I wrote The Camelot Shadow very purposefully to be the kind of book you read when the weather changes and fall turns to winter; at that time of year, I love books that mix history with mystery, thrills with chills, and characters I want to spend hours with. I'm not saying I achieved an optimal mix of that, mind you, but I gave it a whack. Check it out if you're so inclined.

I love that some of these modules are for parties of 6-8 adventurers, and I wonder what it would be like to play with that many people; outside of a couple of times at game cons, which is fun but sort of a weird situation, I've never played a D&D session with more than 4 people (including the DM). For those who have routinely played with big parties--more or less fun than with small parties?
