too much repetition

Big catastrophe just stalled the whole story.

I like that the pov’s don’t follow a simple pattern and surprise me.

well, except for words like ‘stingingly.’

beside all the obvious, i just like Margaret Ogden’s writing style. She likes to cycle between forward’s plot and backward’s context, and the pacing and the diction are just right.

This is “Defending Your Life" (1991)

So they made a human pyramid using 1,275 people? Wat.

In 1963, Vonnegut did it better in 15 pages.

I don’t think the author has been to a stand-up comedy show before.

weirdest phrasings. — “This man was as tall as Fafhrd…”

never before written and never be written again. — “…the culture dancer is not raped or dead, but stunned with snowballs.”

yeesh. — “…she let herself be bullied.”

Ugh. Rule of three nonsense.

It’s too bad the author decided to shortcut the main mystery off-page, with a 5-page letter.
