And the plot thickens...

Reading this again has revealed something to me... Mathurin Kerbouchard is the historical fiction counterpart of Kvothe, from the Kingkiller Chronicles.

Both are young, proud, arrogant, good at a LOT of things, and are pretty much wish-fulfillment characters.

Except Mathurin has a lot more luck with women.

Enter John Ross, Knight of the Word.

Just met the Native American, Two Bears. I'm starting to remember these characters, from the "Genesis of Shannara" series. Nest Freemark, John Ross, Two Bears... On to Part 2!

Having fun once again in my adventures with Mathurin Kerbouchard. :)

Whoa. Great book so far, I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully this book will inspire me to challenge myself this year with my faith, and my commitment to God. I pray that it does, and that I remember to stop everyday and think about how crazy God is, and how amazing His love is for us.

So far, I'm really enjoying it. Good story, good characters, and interesting setting so far.

Also, my reactions to the chapters:

Prologue: Ooo this is cool.
Chapter 1: Ooo this is cool.
Chapter 2: Ah, nice characters.
Chapter 3: Hmm, millworkers, srike... intersting...
Chapter 4: HOLY CRAP IT'S A DEMON OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS AWESOME

I mean, I know I should have been expecting it... but it was cool.

Andddd here we go. The official Shannara Mega-Read. Interesting opening with the Prologue here. I particularly like the last line--it sets the stage nicely for the rest of the book.

My gosh do I love this book. At first I had trouble getting into it again, but as always, Brandon Sanderson has proven to me that I can pick up any book of his at any time and absolutely love it.

I cried twice during the last twelve chapter section I read today. Yes, I'm emotional. Oh well. I just love good stories. :)

Now I've started to remember why I liked Raoden's viewpoints much better than the other two. Just didn't feel a whole lot of interesting things going on in these chapters, but we're still pretty early in the book.

So far...

Raoden = love
Sarene = love just a bit less
Hrathen = *shrugs*

Done with the first two chapter triads. I love the opening lines in the first three chapters that introduce the main characters. Excellent hooks into the story. Excited to get back into the world of Elantris :D
