Logic is fun.

Now to get started on this book. Oh, I love Ken Ham. This should be great :D

Oh my gosh, the similarities between Kvothe and Mathurin are ridiculous... I wonder if Mr. Patrick Rothfuss read The Walking Drum as a child...?

Except for the romance aspect of course. Kvothe doesn't get unrealistically good with ladies until the last half of the second book. Mathurin seems to have ALWAYS been ridiculously good with women.

Dang, this book is good. Challenging stuff...

Having a lot of fun rereading this book. :D

Okay, seriously. Kerbouchard totally reminds me of Kvothe. I mean, they both come from a culture that reveres standing-stones, for crying out loud!

I'm really enjoying this book. The theme of homelessness and poverty they are tackling is interesting and compelling, and fits in with the story very well. It's not tacked on to prove a point--the characters really care about the issue, and the author is tackling it from a lot of different, interesting angles.

And the plot thickens...

So, I'm really interested in what event sets off the end of the world. Guess I'll have to keep reading to find out.

There's a demon on the prowl...

The last chapter was written for me. The focus of the chapter was to stop "trying harder", and to simply fall more in love with God. This is something I've been struggling with for a while now. Every time I mess up I resolve to try harder next time, but then completely neglect reading my Bible, praying, and doing other things that will bring me closer to God. Thank you, Francis Chan, for this book.

"To call someone a Christian simply because he does some Christian-y things is giving false comfort to the unsaved. But to declare anyone who sins "unsaved" is to deny the reality and truth of God's grace."

"We're off to see the Wizard, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."

And we have the set-up. Time has passed. Nest has grown up. John Ross saved her life, now it's time to repay the favor. Let's do this thing.

Ah, a prologue set at the end of the story. I wonder how we're going to get there. Well, let's find out... Awesome end line for the prologue again. "Death followed in his shadow."

Now on to... "A Knight of the Word". Let's do this.

Ah, two more revelations. The first I saw coming from a mile away, and the second I guessed at and got it right as well. I liked the second reveal a lot better. The first was just a bit obvious, but we'll have to see how the rest of the story plays out...

Well... events just took a turn for the worse. Now I'm really sad... :'(

Now we come to the last part... the climax.... the avalanche... let's do this.

Oh... Nest's grandparents... it is just so sad... *sigh*

And John Ross is forced to use his magic. What did I tell you about letting pretty girls distract you, John?

Wow. This is really, really good. The concept that speaks to me the most is this: if you were to suddenly stop believing in God, would your life look any different?

Really enjoying this book. I'm also really interested in the world of Shannara as a whole, and what this mega read will help me discover about the underlying theory of the world, the Word and the Void, and how they all connect.

I guess I'll just have to keep reading...
