I was excited to read this after the first chapter, but Ma has quickly fallen into a pit of female authors categorized by their blunt "poetic" talk of sex and frankness that for this novel and story, I don't see as relevant

God I hate Jessica

why the heck is Paul 15 like what is the point of that other than to make him seem more amazing? I'm really having a problem with his age, Herbert's giving him children to look after, a lover, smh, I really hate the fact he's freaking FIFTEEN

I think I hate Jessica so much bc of the Jessica in elementary school who handed me a black crayon to color MLK on MLK Day after I asked for brown. Let's just blame it on that. Cuz I really wouldn't mind Jessica dying 😂

I think it's safe to say I hate "The Chosen One" trope. I don't encounter it much bc I don't typically read fantasy but dang I find it annoying

I will say this is the first time I've enjoyed 3rd person omniscient, usually it gets on my dang nerves

They keep describing Duncan Idaho as dark yet he's played by Jason Momoa and ngl that kinda bums me out

I'm choking on the chosen one trope in this book bruh it is killing me lol. Like frank keeps having other characters tell me Paul's questions are so smart and I wouldn't know otherwise bc it just seems like...a logical question??? Like he ain't doing nothing 🤣😅

so my library does have all the books, but literally nothing exciting has happened yet and I am riding the edge of engagement

So the movie coming out is only adapting half of this, ofc imma read all of it but who knows if I'll care enough to continue after that??? And idk if my library even has the rest
