The description calls this book darkly comic but I find myself not picking up on the 'comic' part. Intriguing read so far.

Not sure how this book will go as I hated 'Alloy of Law.' I realized part of why I hate it is I can't stand when magic and technology mix. Here he's not fast enough to defelct bullets from guns. What's the point of your magic then! Is this why magic is gone now ... :(

I'm glad this novel follows the same characters/ and now their growing children as well. Hitler just took over majority 'parliment' by jailing or beating the other parties, and promising the catholic party a not-yet confirmed deal. Germany already seems in chaos at this point -only 1935.

Started this on my Kindle, so far the main character disturbs me a little/ doesn't seem like a very good person.

I'm really pleasantly surprised to be loving this book - I never read historical fiction. I'm happy to be learning about World War 1 in a way that makes SENSE, and also when I cry about whole towns/villages getting telegrams about the deaths of their sons in their towns regiment I tear up and it makes my dry contacts feel better.

World War 1 has started! I think all history books should have been written like this (as "fiction") it makes WAY more sense and is WAY more interesting and the fake ehem 'romance' scenes help keep me paying attention as well hahahaha

Interesting read so far because I don't normally partake in this genre.

My impression so far is that Auri is crazy.

Loove it so far how does Sanderson think of this stuff!? Geometry made interesting.

Really enjoying the plot even though I can feel like this was a novel meant for pre-teens.

Not sure how I feel about 'Pattern,' usually like familiars but usually they are animals/sprites and he is weird. Who has literally a pattern for a familiar!?

Currently re-reading this beast. As good as the first time. Want to punch everyone in the face notably Sadeas and Elokhar.

Just flipped through the rest of the book wondering when Richard and Kahlan are going to make an appearance and I think they might not even! I'm actually a bit excited!

Nicci's crazy. Richard and Khalan are camping. Waiting for something else to happen.

I'm ready to throttle Khalan. Shes SUPER annoying.

So funny ok a psycho chicken just attacked everyone in the town.

There are Rahl's popping up all over the place.

Poor Richard is unwittingly engaged to pretty much everyone.

Waiting for something to happen.

I hope 'grandmama' and random street kid are ok. Never before have I cared about random side characters irrelevant to the plot.

I have a reading addiction problem. Love what happened with Prindin because I was surprised. How she just missed Zedd in the carriage reminds me of the Pinocchio scene when Japetto is out at night looking for Pinnochio and Stromboli's carriage drives by and splashes him.

I'm quickly hooked again. Starting to think that the whole situation with Kahlan is actually funny. Her boyfriend keeps being forced to have other mistresses and she can't do anything about it.
