Pretty good overview so far of the people and ideas involved with Astronomy, from ancient times until now. Interested to note that it was really only in the last few centuries that Astronomy separated from Astrology as a discipline of study.

It's rather depressing how much of the history of sociology is connected to attempts at explaining Marxist theories. And so little of sociology is science - much of it appears to be one person's analysis of the issues they find with another person's analysis!

As I got further into the book, I began to think "hey... these are Nassim Taleb's ideas in a different wrapper". And I LOVE TALEB'S IDEAS. It would be a good book to read for someone who has not read his works before.

Not empirical data, but lots of illustrative examples showing the mistakes we all tend to make when thinking about money, wealth, riches, etc. So far it is really catching my interest, and helping me re-think some things.
